Ok I read that headline and all my mind jumped to was this mental image of some grey haired pensioners in leather jackets giving the finger to the camera as they were dragged off their bikes and into p[olice custody... as opposed to senior/high ranking members of bikie gangs... LOL

Perth to London flights for $453

Tickets from Perth to London via Malaysia are set to sell in a flash today with AirAsia X’s announcement of $261 one-way flights from Kuala Lumpur to London.

The low cost affiliate of AirAisa, AirAsia X will offer five flights a week on the route, beginning in March 2009 between London Stansted and Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s Low Cost Carrier Terminal.

With ticket fares to London via Malaysia at an average price of $1170 to $1400, chief executive Tony Fernandes said the route was the realisation of a long-held ambition to open up affordable access between Malaysia and Europe for both residents of Asia and European communities.

“This new route will benefit everyone, enabling magnificent holidays in beautiful locations, encouraging economic and tourism activity, bringing in revenue and creating job opportunities,” he said.

An Airbus A340 aircraft with the capacity to hold 286 passengers will make the flights.

To coincide with the new offer, the company is offering fares from Perth to Kuala Lumpur from $192.
