Nov. 2nd, 2010 07:20 pmClosing time
Open all the doors and let you out into the world
Closing time
Turn all of the lights on over every boy and every girl
Closing time
One last call for alcohol so finish your whiskey or beer
Closing time
You don't have to go home but you can't stay here
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home
Closing time
Time for you to go out to the places you will be from
Closing time
This room won't be open till your brothers or your sisters come
So gather up your jackets, move it to the exits
I hope you have found a friend
Closing time
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end, yeah
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home
Closing time
Time for you to go out to the places you will be from
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home

Possible, maybe, not likely, who knows...
Ok so out of curiosity at least have signed up for a Dreamwidth account. At least for now I have no plans for abandoning LJ, but really havent been motivated to post a lot of late so looking for something to try and rekindle that. Have been contemplating various options and possibilities re journals and blogging, whether to try and reinvigorate the old blog, start fresh and new elsewhere, leave the old for more relaxed/fun/friendly/sexual posts and start something now for more serious/professional writing or blogging... and with me being as indecisive as I always am or have been I am no closer to an answer on any of that!
So for now just playing and looking and trying... will see where it goes from here.

Alive and kicking
Sep. 1st, 2010 08:45 amUgh shows you how distracted I have been with this flu and stuff, didn't even realise my paid account had expired until I went to make a comment and at first couldnt work out why I only had 6 user pics to choose from
Anyway, much as I did contemplate and consider it for a bit, I repaid, not sure how much I'll be here on LJ but will still be here for a while
And yeah yet again I know I've been quiet for a while, had a dose of the flu/cold thats left me flat, drained, just with enough energy to get the day to day stuff done... and just as I thought I had got on top of it and over it, bang it came back for a second round. Still not fully over it but feeling better and almost back to normal (or whatever passes as my normality anyway :-) lol). It's only in the last few days I have realised how down the whole thing had me, not just physicaqlly but emotionally and mentally down, drained, and depressed as well.

I know I know I have been quiet and not posting much again, this time I have a more legit excuse lol am in the middle of a 2 week break in Sydney and surrounds, so have had limited/restricted net access at times, though still been reading where possible :-)
Been a fun break, spent a couple of nights up in or just off the Blue Mountains, then up around the Hunter, and now am in Sydney til at least Tuesday, more likely til Friday when I fly back home. Staying in a nice 2 bed apartment in Darlinghurst just out of the city, can see the city and the Harbour (just) from the balcony and windows.
Oh and got to see Wicked again last night, yay! :-)

why it pays to fully unroll the paper and get the full story before jumping to conclusions :-)
( all revealed under the cut )
Ok so much for my good intentions to keep posting and do regular updates lol but yes I am still here, alive, reading, commenting (occasionally) posting (sporadically) and generally just being
A quick update
Next set of holidays are in the middle of planning and booking, going back to Sydney/NSW for a week-10 days or so at the end of July/start of August. Plans at this stage include going to see the Swans v Geelong match out at the Olympic stadium, catching Wicked again (at least once, maybe more) among other things. Contemplating whether to do a side trip somewhere, the snow or elsewhere, still a bit up in the air
Got my new phone last week, HTC Desire, fun, fancy, speccy... another tech toy :-)
Ordered some new books online that have just started arriving, so will have to find some time to read. One new one on Radio tips and broadcasting, so related to study, the others on relationships, alternatives, Poly, open, non-monogamy...
Been watching and enjoying the World Cup, well most of it anyway, the Aussie performances havent been so great... though still planning on getting up at 2.30am tomorrow morning to see if they can swing a miracle and get through to the next stage
Football (Aussie style) locally has been going ok, Falcons turned things around a bit the last few weeks. Did talk again last night to the guys in charge about needing to get people organised and prepared and trained up to cover my role in case I am not back next season, or not all the time, and will have to keep pushing that over the next few weeks.
Got a bye this weekend though so no footy commitments :-) woohoo! Have to decide what to do with the weekend, should really avoid doing too much and save money for the Sydney trip, though might at least get out of the city for a drive or something.
Study has eased up, we're in the last 2 weeks of this semester but dont have classes, just time to finish assignments and the like which I'm pretty much done with. Then a 2 week break, then into Cert IV and the second half of the year. The Sydney trip will come a couple of weeks into next semesters class, but already got the ok, will just fit in the study, maybe do some stories or reports to be slotted into the radio show back here.
Otherwise quiet and steady, not much happening with work, and the rest... well may end up posting something but more likely will be under the filters if I do :-)

They say any week you learn something new is a good week... so heres my lesson from the weekend...
Nothing beats relaxing with a coffee outside on a sunny Sunday morning (even if a little chilly) with good company... however... if you are outside, and its windy, and someone has a cappucino... thats been overly dusted in chocolate so has a fair bit of the dry choc powder sitting on top... try not to be the one sitting downwind at the table, or you risk getting your own chocolate dusting!

Jun. 9th, 2010 09:40 amThere’s a staggering number of Australians being in having their computers infected at the moment, up to 20,000, uh, can regularly be getting infected by these spams, or scams, that come through, the portal.
Stephen Conroy, Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy
In some ways its funny, and harks back to the old "All your base are belong to us"... but its also scary that this is coming out of the mouth of the politician dealing with the internet and digital communications... or maybe this is that proof we needed that he is 20+ years behind the times...
It's always good to feel acknowledged and appreciated :-) and with all the birthday wishes I have been getting today have certainly been feeling that... while trying to stay focussed on that and not feel all of my 39 years LOL
It's interesting, and good, and made me look around and appreciate the great people I have around me now :-) some closer than others, some face to face, some online only, but all great and special and meaningful in their own way :-)
and certainly different from where I used to be and how I used to feel... especially going back 5+ years ago, where I'd got myself into a safe quiet isolated rut, just go to work, go home and sit online, not really get out and about and socialise... one of those places where even though you know you are not feeling fulfilled, feeling alone and isolated, its sometimes easier to stay in that safe rut than to take the risks and chances to push yourself out of it.
I think where the down side of that really hit home though was one year where I think I got more birthday messages and congrats from automated messages from say forums, groups, message boards etc that I was a member of, than I did from actual real personal people and friends... that was a bit of a slap in the face that things were a little out of whack from what they should be
But no, this year, as in the last few, has been great, plenty of good friends and casual aquaintainces to chat with and share with and celebrate with, not just on today but all year round
So, in case I don't say it enough, thank you to all of you, those I know well, those I am getting to know, those who may just flitter by on the edges.. you are all appreciated and I am glad to have you around :-)

The week ahead
May. 18th, 2010 04:48 pmHmmm nearly done with Tuesday already...
Got a semi busy week ahead... no West Perth game to do this week as we have a bye due to the State Game between WA and Vic (aussie rules for those new round here that dont know lol)... but, I am doing the stats for the WA State team :-) was meant to be going down to training tonight for team photos but apparently the shirts arent ready, might still drop in anyway... Then Jumper Presentations (and likely our photos) on Thursday night, then the game on Saturday
Then on Sunday I have the 14km fun run/walk I signed up for... in my case definitely a walk! Have been walking 2-3 times a week in prep, including a few longer 90 min + walks, and surviving that, and with the pace I've been doing should hopefully make the 14km inside 2 hours, or there abouts... that'll be the ideal aim, but will just be happy to make it! Am sure whatever the result I am going to be stiff and sore on Monday!
Just signed up for the next semester of the current radio/broadcasting course that I am doing, should be good, moving on from the basics we have done this semester in the Cert III level course and developing and evolving those further. Plus Russ our course co-ordinator said that one of the guys who did our course last year and is now working on a local GBLT Radio program wants us to do some work for that leading up to this years Pride Parade, recording some promos and ads and interviews beforehand and maybe even some stuff on the night, so looking forward to that if it happens
Oh and still waiting on my new car! They said 3-4 weeks for delivery, and it will be 3 weeks tomorrow since I agreed and signed, so should be soon... hopefully!
